Separate power from network symptoms

Check whether the camera reboots, loses battery rapidly, or shows no indicator. A device without stable power can look like a Wi‑Fi problem. Fully charge it and inspect approved connectors before changing the network.

Establish a near-router baseline

If the camera remains online close to the router, the final location is likely the issue. Test at intermediate positions with doors closed and normal household network use.

Review router compatibility carefully

Confirm the exact supported band and security mode. Router band steering, guest isolation, changed credentials, access controls, or a replaced mesh node can affect reconnection. Do not weaken security based on generic advice.

Improve the outdoor path

A well-placed compatible mesh point or extender may help. Keep network hardware dry and within its rated environment, and test stability for more than a few minutes before remounting.
